Children's Educational Comic Illustrations

I was asked to draw a children's educational comic to help to get the message across to a younger generation about saving energy, keeping warm and well in the colder months.

So were born the characters Warmly and Wellby. Two polar bears who were secret agents work to defeat the evil Dr Freeze.

I was given a very basic story line which I then created a whole world of characters and a story situation.

I sketched out the rough pages with the characters and story coming to life.

The illustrations needed to appeal to youngsters aged 7 to 12, so a simple cartoon style was my approach... but with plenty of rich details and silly humour!

After the comic was completed they needed a simple board game to take to the schools that they were visiting to promote the concept.

So, based on the classic snakes and ladders game I illustrated the Warmly and Wellby version to beat Dr Freeze!
